Research fields

My research projects focus on two different fields, one being Complex Systems and Collective Behaviours and the other being Media and Technology. I applied very different methods in these two lines of research, but ultimately they converge into a rather comprehensive picture of human agency and behaviours in light of evolving socio-technical systems.

Complex Systems and Collective Behaviours

In this line of research, I seek to understand complex human behaviours using complexity science. I use tools from physics, computational linguistics (NLP) and machine learning to (1) characterize, (2) model and (3) predict human behaviours in large-scale social systems.

Media and Technology

In this line of research, I focus on (1) effects of media technologies on the public, (2) how users of technologies participate and cope with technological changes and (3) how specific demographics may engage with media technologies and how they negotiate with these tools.
